Made from Grade A medium density fiberboard, also known as MDF, this mantel ships in 3 pieces; 2 legs and 1 header. The legs attach easily to the header with nuts and bolts. Mitered hanger board assembly is included for easy installation, as well as a 3-piece mitered scribe molding set to hide any gaps after installation.

This mantel has a 1 1/2" projection off of the wall, leaving a nice pocket behind the mantel to accommodate your tile, stone, marble, etc. The interior width is 48", the interior height is 42", and the width outside leg to outside leg at the base is 61". The shelf length is 65.25", the shelf depth is 7.75", and the leg depth is 3.5". The overall height is 52.75", and the weight is 60 pounds.

Look for the pearl inlay that graces the right-hand side of the shelf as proof that you have received an authentic Pearl Mantel. The mantel arrives painted white and is ready to install. Easy assembly and easy installation are assured, as you simply need to attach the legs to the header and mount on the mitered hanger rail (included).

Please consult a professional before painting or staining your new mantel. Finish the look with the 3-piece scribe molding set, included. The 1 1/2-inch projection behind the mantel allows for easy installation over your non-combustible material (i.e., marble, slate...), and you can secure the scribes around the opening to hide any gaps.

All assembly hardware is included, but the hardware to mount the hanger rail is not. You will need to purchase hardware that is appropriate for your specific mounting surface, such as brick or drywall. MDF is considered a combustible material, so heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.
